Remember my article about getting the vt6420 to work with the Samsung F1? It is the most read article on my blog to date. Well unfortunately, a few hours ago it died for absolutely no reason, and the culprit appears to be the new vt6421a controller I purchased to make my F1 work. It was always kinda flaky but now the system won't boot at all.
I officially give up.
It's rare I give up with this sort of thing, but tomorrow I'm going to buy a new motherboard with proper SATA support built-in, and perhaps a new processor with AMD-V extensions. Shouldn't cost more than £100 overall. I'm completely fed up with this hardware messing me about. You won, vt6420; I hope you're happy after putting me through so much agony. I wish it'd have at least waited until I moved out so that I had the space to buy a whole new full-sized computer.
Sometimes computer hardware can just be a total bitch.
